Wild passion and loyal support towards their beloved team, mark the Phillies fans. They can’t tolerate the agony of witnessing their team lose. So, often the Phillies fans take out their frustration on the opposition supporters. The Phillies’ games against the Mets in particular amplify the crowd hostility.?
Maxwell Jacob Friedman, is an AEW wrestler, who is making his presence felt in the ring. Within a brief time, he has set on a course to build a grand legacy. Of late, he got noticed putting his foot into the baseball territory, thereby, publicly displaying support for his favorite team. An act that might have now made him some enemies in the baseball realm.?
A publicity stunt unacceptable for the Philadelphia Phillies fans?
Maxwell Jacob Friedman has already earned the ire of Philadelphia Phillies loyalists. Friedman is presently participating in the AEW Dynamite tournament. But before he went into the ring, he sang a special song to the Philadelphia crowd at the Liacouras Center. Unfortunately, it wasn’t the song that would get along properly with the Phillies supporters in particular.?
But Friedman was very well aware of the fact, and so he knowingly went ahead. He did a rendition of the iconic Mets’ theme song. Titled, ‘The Fight Song,’ the composition is symbolic of the Mets team. Thus, Friedman intentionally sang the song to irritate the Philadelphia locals.?
But Friedman did not wrap up by just singing the song. Once the song got over, he went on to praise the Mets over the Phillies. He even mentioned that the Jacksonville Jaguars will next defeat the Philadelphia Eagles in the NFL. The SNY Mets Network posted the video on Twitter quoting, “Long Island-born wrestler MJF sang ‘Meet the Mets’ to a Philadelphia crowd last night at AEW Dynamite.”?
