Alex Rodriguez has said countless times that his life has always revolved around two Bs – Baseball and Business. But even then, shifting from the high-pressure on-field ballgame to an equally high-pressure behind-the-scenes “board” game might not have been easy. Even the most resilient and smartest of people feel the heat during such high-octane investor meetings. Rodriguez is no different – the star revealed as such to the Tennis legend Serena Williams

During The Deal with Alex Rodriguez and Jason Kelly, the two stars bonded over their shared experiences. From conquering their sport to becoming highly successful entrepreneurs and investors, A-Rod and Williams have done it all. However, the thing that really brought them closer was how they had to compose themselves initially before jumping into the world of business.

Serena Williams revealed that what made her resolve even stronger was when she heard a shocking number. “Jamie Dimon was on stage and he was talking to this woman, she’s on stage and she’s talking about women and VC. “I can’t help but think about when I transitioned from baseball to business, and it’s quite daunting. And I know for me there was some imposter syndrome, but we’re both former athletes,” Alex Rodriguez said about his foray into the business world. Both agreed that it’s a difficult situation, but all’s well that ends well. And for Alex Rodriguez and Serena Williams, with a combined worth of $640 million, things certainly shaped up well.

How Alex Rodriguez’s love for business grew into a massive empire

Since he was in high school, Alex Rodriguez has always wanted to be a businessman. Even though baseball was what he loved, he figured that the chances of success in sports were much lower than in business. Luckily for him, he found success in both. However, what was interesting is that his first foray into business came due to his childhood experiences.

Alex Rodriguez earlier revealed that his family was constantly forced to move homes due to increased rents. That made A-Rod wish that he became a landlord. When his baseball career skyrocketed, that was the first thing that Rodriguez did. The superstar bought a $250,000 duplex and rented it. Ever since then, Rodriguez has continued on that path.

As of now, he has acquired over 20,000 multifamily apartments and around 10,000 single-family homes. That’s all the evidence one needs to understand about the business acumen of this New York Yankees superstar.
