Mike Trout may be headed to New York. The 11x All-Star has spent the last 14 years in Los Angeles, never tasting postseason glory more than once. The center fielder has indicated that serious conversations would be had this offseason despite his IL status. The Angels have moved up the timetable and would consider a trade if Trout wanted it to be so. What will the New Jersey native choose?

At 32, Trout struggles with slumps and injuries after an outstanding personal performance in LA for the last decade. But team success still eludes him. Is he ready to finish out his 12-year contract in Los Angeles? Or will he pull an Aaron Rodgers move and be seen in Pinstripes next?

Given, the NFL legend is originally from the West Coast, his move to the New York Jets could still give some ideas to Mike Trout. Although the Angels snatched him up in 2009, the New York Yankees had tried to actively pursue the promising young talent. Instead, Trout, who was a die-hard Philadelphia Phillies fan, moved to the other side of the country. Now, an unexpected chance has made itself available.

Unfortunately for Aaron Rodgers, his debut in New York after being traded from the Green Bay Packers did not go too well. The quarterback suffered an injury early on in his first game vs. the Buffalo Bills.

While the Jets ultimately won with an overwhelming 22-16 overtime victory, their star QB was out. The 4x NFL MVP’s club fears it may be an Achilles’ injury, which is strangely reminiscent of the 3x AL MVP.

While the Angels’ slugger hurt his hand, there’s no fixed timeline on when he will recover. Even if Trout ultimately wants to go to New York, does The Big Apple want the injury-prone player?

Another point to consider is his massive $426 million contract. Rodgers took a $35 million pay cut from his $112.5 million salary just to stay in the NFL. Is Trout willing to do the same?

Aaron Rodgers, who took a pay cut to sign with the Jets, showed that he simply wanted to keep on playing his beloved sport. Does the same hold true for Trout? The Angels player has been recovering on the IL since July 3rd and he may have lost interest in baseball.

Because holding a bat was not an option, Trout instead focused on his second sport of choice, golf. Teaming up with the legendary Tiger Woods, the slugger has been slowly bringing Trout National – The Reserve to life. It’s been slow progress but advancement nonetheless.
