The 2023 MLB season has progressed differently for the New York Yankees. After poor results in the last few moments, they have shown better performances in the recent games. The Pinstripes are still last in the AL East. But with seven wins in their previous ten games, they have increased their chances of playoff qualification. And with it, the demand for changes with Coach Prime Deion Sanders seems to have changed.

The Yankees have a glorious history. But the winner of 27 World Series Titles has not played similarly in the last few years. With the previous title in 2009, they are desperately in need of a championship win. Though it was not looking like a distant dream earlier this season, the Yankees have changed it. But the question remains? Are they back to their best?

The last two were against the Yankees. But things have changed, and the team is looking like a championship team. With a 5-1 win against the Detroit Tigers, they have increased their chances of playoff qualification. And if they continue the same momentum, they might challenge for the title.

But given there has not been a major change in the team, what has turned right for the team? It seems to be the belief that has made an impact on them. Since Aaron Judge returned to his best, he is scoring runs. And other players have followed him with their performances.

It includes the names of Luis Severino, Anthony Volpe, and others. And the latest addition to it has become Giancarlo Stanton. The 33-year-old experienced player scored the 400th home run of his career, adding to his recent surge in his form. Once under the fans’ scrutiny, he has got their love back.

It has also changed the situation around Aaron Boone, who was held responsible for the team’s misery. And because of it, fans wanted someone like Deion Sanders to replace him. But that debate seems to have taken a turn now. Though is it enough for them to claim their lost glory? Given the challenge, it would take a 1978-like effort from them. Can they do it?

The Yankees trailed 14 games in the AL East back then. They looked out of the championship race. But they won 52 of their remaining 73 games to make it to the playoffs and also won the division. With it, other players have joined the party, making it believe that they can repeat the run from 1978. What are your thoughts on this? Let us know in the comments below.
