Presently, it appears that we might be witnessing a remarkable resurgence akin of Deion Sanders. The NFL star was a two-sport athlete and played in the NFL and MLB at the same time. Now, a promising high school athlete, excelling in two sports, is poised to undertake a similar feat.

This is an incredible feat, but will also take a lot of effort and determination. The USC-committed youngster Duce Robinson will attempt to play college football and professional baseball at the same time. In a recent display of astonishing speed and athleticism, he managed to outrun an impressive 98% of NFL players, leaving them behind in awe. As a result, he is expected to be a high pick in the upcoming MLB Draft.

2023’s MLB Draft is less than 30 days away. The upper echelon of prospects is getting attention. But the MLB world is now set to get the next Deion Sanders, or so it seems. The college freshman has expressed the intention to play professional baseball and college football at the same time.

Rising to the occasion, OutKick shared the news via Twitter while also sharing further details in an article. In the Tweet, they said, “USC’s five-star freshman Duce Robinson will attempt to play both college football AND professional baseball AT THE SAME TIME. He recently out-ran 98% of the NFL 👀”.

Robinson has committed to USC at the tight-end position. He is also projected to be a high draft pick in less than a month’s time. This is a massive move from the youngster as he looks to a future as a two-sport athlete.

Although the legal details have not been figured out, the rising freshman has committed to playing both sports. According to the OutKick article, “Robinson is going to play football for Lincoln Riley from August through January. He’ll then be in the outfield for a professional baseball organization from February through July.” It will be interesting to see if this plan comes to fruition.

With his 6’6”, 225-pound frame, Duce Robinson has been described as extremely gifted athletically. It is one of many attributes that allow him to excel in both baseball and football. Robinson was a five-star football recruit at the tight-end position. Furthermore, he is a top-100 MLB draft prospect. Only time will tell if he matches up to the legacy left behind by Deion Sanders, who earned the nickname “Prime Time”.
