When in the spotlight, controversy is impossible to avoid. It could be a comment or a look, but fans can misconstrue anything. The same goes for Deion Sanders, who is currently in his first year coaching Colorado Boulder’s Buffaloes. With a radical approach, Coach Prime is making waves in the sports world. And former Giants teammate Barry Bonds remains impressed.
The San Francisco Giants legend is no stranger to dissension in the fanbase. With a steroid-tainted past, Bonds has received harsh treatment from fans and the media. In retirement, the ex-slugger has found peace away from the constant pressure of baseball. While not the most active on social media, Bonds recently cheered for Sanders from behind the scenes.

It’s easy to be judged, or misjudged, when one refuses to publicly comment on matters. The story takes a life of its own, changing from mouth to mouth and publication to publication. It happened too often to Barry Bonds and it’s happening with Coach Prime now.

When the Colorado Buffaloes matched up with the Colorado Rams, tensions were high between their coaches as well. But Sanders made sure to clear up that there was no bad blood between himself and Jay Norvell. The retired footballer even posted to his Instagram, where the caption went as follows.
“You will never hear me speak negatively regarding another man or woman. I never spoke negative regarding my opponent in the @nfl. I told the media who I was because they didn’t believe but never I’ve disrespected another man verbally. I wasn’t raised that way and putting another brother down don’t & won’t necessarily make me come up! I trust God for my elevation.
When a fan page posted the quote to Instagram, Bonds simply reshared it to his story. While not a social media savant, this rare move showed he truly appreciates the former two-sport athlete.

“Barry Bonds is the best baseball player I’ve ever seen… it’s an atrocity what they’re doing with him in the Hall of Fame,” the ex-slugger said several years ago.
