Derek Jeter is one of those players. He got his jersey number retired and also got inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame. Bill talking about Jeter just made this statement even more accurate.

In his words, “I have to go with Jeter here in the long haul, not that I was growing up then, but it would be hard to put anybody ahead of Jeter.”

In his twenty-year-long career, Jeter was an All-Star player fourteen times and won the World Series rings five times. The last one was in 2009, which also is the Yankees’ last till now. He also got inducted into the Baseball Hall of Fame in his first year on the ballot.
