A-Rod then recounted a story of how he had met the former NFL player when he was around 12 years old. The former New York Yankees star stated that the meeting had changed his life and given him hope.
While talking to Marino, Rodriguez said, “But you put your arm around me and you said, ‘man you’re a good-looking kid, you have a bright future.’ Man, I went home, and I told my mom. I said, ‘mom, I have a chance to make it. Danny, Danny approves.” Furthermore, he also mentioned that he had the chance to meet Marino when he was 17 years old as well.
