The Philadelphia Phillies are competing in the World Series and have caught the eyes of the baseball realm and beyond. The Phillies’ unreal campaign has captured the imagination of sports. Their players have stepped up to the occasion with noteworthy performances. So much so that NFL superstar Patrick Mahomes II has recently praised one Phillies player in particular. 

The Phillies are facing off against the formidable Houston Astros in their World Series championship quest. Both teams are presently fighting tooth and nail for the ultimate prize. Phillies’ star slugger Bryce Harper gave a stellar performance in the third World Series game, justifying his reputation. Mahomes took note and couldn’t stop himself from appreciating Harper’s might.

The son of a former baseball star, Mahomes is a prolific performer in his respective playing zone. His popularity extends far beyond the NFL circuit. Therefore, Mahomes’ complimentary tweet about Harper has won hearts across the baseball community. 

Patrick Mahomes salutes Philadelphia Phillies’ hero 

The Phillies have defied all expectations throughout this MLB season and punched above their weight. Bryce Harper has had an injury-ridden campaign on an individual level this year. But he has still powered his team with valiant efforts. In the third World Series game, Harper began glorious proceedings by smashing a home run in the first innings. 

The Phillies slammed a total of five home runs in that particular game. Thus, the Phillies registered an MLB record for scoring the joint-highest number of home runs in a World Series game. Consequently, the Phillies defeated the Astros comfortably by a 7-0 margin. Patrick Mahomes II  appreciated Harper on his official Twitter account by quoting, “Bryce Harper is a Dawg!!!” 

One fan replied, quoting, “Greatness Recognizes Greatness.”  

While another fan jokingly quoted, “Could you offer him the Patrick price or a discount on some sneakers?”

Therefore, most baseball fans echoed Mahomes’ opinion regarding Harper.

However, Mahomes’ tweet about Harper was after the third World Series game and the scenes have now changed. The Astros won the next game and drew level. Hence, the seven-game series now stands at two games each, with three to follow. 

A glance at Mahomes and Harper’s respective careers 

Mahomes made his NFL debut as the Kansas City Chiefs quarterback in 2017 and rose to prominence within a short time. He is a one-time Super Bowl winner.
