Home/NFL

One of the best parts of watching an athlete in their element is their unusual superhuman display. While it’s not easy to make it to the majors in a sport, some rare names have done it multiple times. Deion Sanders is one of them, as he spent his youth in the NFL and MLB, at the same time. Legendary as he was, even the current New York Yankees manager was impressed.

Aaron Boone spent 13 seasons in Major League Baseball before retiring from broadcasting and managing. His professional career in the sport bore some iconic moments, like the 2003 ALCS. But when asked about Coach Prime, who is rumored to be taking his place with the Yankees next, Boone had nothing but good things to share.

Prime Time has exploded back onto the sports scene as a coach. With the Colorado Buffaloes, Sanders has made waves in the college football world. Taking a team not many paid attention to a drastically different club this season, Coach Prime’s football prowess is on display. Many Bronx fans want him to manage the New York Yankees and take Aaron Boone’s position next.

Sanders can probably handle two sports at once. After all, he has done it before, and he can do it again. While Colorado Boulder’s coach has not commented on it, rumors have flown. The Bronx Bombers have not done well in Boone’s time in New York and fans want him gone.

Nevertheless, the Yankees skipper is not afraid to give respect where it’s due. In a recent interview with the league, he discussed his favorite baseball moment involving Sanders.

“My favorite baseball memory of Deion is in 2001, he was making his return to baseball. Coming back with the Reds, I was on the team in the lineup with him. And I believe it was [his] first at-bat, home run, couple stolen bases, just a very Deion-like game in his return to baseball. Hadn’t played baseball in a long time and absolutely delivered an All-Star-level performance.”
