It was a star-studded night for Colorado vs. Southern California. Deion Sanders has worked a miracle in taking Colorado Boulder’s football scene to the next level. Following his son Shedeur Sanders to the college as coach, Prime Time has been instrumental in bringing back glory to the Buffaloes. Yesterday’s guest list, which included Derek Jeter‘s former teammate, proved Sanders’ influence.
Originally a Michigan native, the former New York Yankees captain used to support the state’s sports teams while growing up. His teammate CC Sabathia was the same, although he grew up in California. Where Jeter supported UoF’s Wolverines, Sabathia didn’t. But Coach Prime’s influence is such that the retired pitcher flew to Colorado to support a non-Californian team.

The last few games have dealt blow after blow to the Deion Sanders-led team. After a devastating loss to the Oregon Ducks, the coach swore the Buffaloes would not experience such defeat again. But it seems like he spoke too soon because the very next game saw the USC Trojans defeat them 48-41.

Nevertheless, CC Sabathia tried to be a good luck charm channeling his inner Deion Sanders. Wearing the former NFL player’s classic white hoodie, cap, and sunglasses, the former pitcher appeared at the game cheering on Prime Time. He posted pictures and videos from the game to his Instagram, aptly captioning it, “#Primeeffect”.
Incidentally, Sanders was wearing an all-black getup for the game, although he still had his sunglasses and hoodie on. It was one of the most-anticipated home games for Colorado in years. Everyone wanted to see the underdogs defeat the established champions, but they lost by seven points. Fans were still happy to see the ex-Yankees pitcher in attendance at Folsom Field, however.
Sports Fans Loved Watching the Star Support For Deion Sanders
Besides baseball, CC Sabathia is an avid sports watcher and often shows up for different NFL games. Yesterday he checked off a watching Coach Prime in action. Sanders used to be a Yankees player in his active days too, but well before Sabathia stepped foot on the mound.
However, the pitcher still reps his old team wherever he goes and yesterday he did so with his themed cap. “Love that you rock the Yankees everywhere you go,” wrote one fan.
Some referred to the game’s second half, where the Buffaloes did well, even if they ultimately lost. “The come back was crazy!!!???Bryce wants to go next time???”
