He was none other than Chris Gronkowski, the brother of NFL star Rob Gronkowski. Chris himself is a former American football player. Having played NFL for the Dallas Cowboys, Indianapolis Colts, Denver Broncos, and Los Angeles Chargers respectively, Chris retired in 2013. Post-retirement, Chris appeared on Shark Tank with his brothers to pitch his product, ‘Ice Shaker’ in 2017.?

Alex ‘A-Rod’ Rodriguez and Mark Cuban got challenged to a game of flip cup by Chris Gronkowski and his brothers. Interestingly, the Gronkowski brothers won the game, defeating the Sharks. Chris and his brothers then pitched their concept of the ‘Ice Shaker’, a stainless steel shaker bottle.?

The specialty of the Ice Shaker is its ability to hold ice for 30 hours. After a demonstration, the Gronkowski brothers asked for $100,000 for 10 percent equity. However, the Gronkowskis also didn’t want to place their surname on their product. An impressed Rodriguez and Cuban then demanded 20 percent equity for a $150,000 investment.?

Ultimately, ‘A-Rod’ and Cuban invested a combined $150,000 for 15 percent equity after an agreement. Thus, Chris eventually got his desired $1 million. ‘A-Rod’ also announced in the next Shark Tank edition, that Ice Shaker sales are up by 500%. The product also developed varied sizes and has gone into over 3,500 GNC stores nationwide.?

According to a source, Chris later said, “Ice Shaker was just a side hustle when I entered the Shark Tank. At that time, the bottles were being stored in spare bedrooms in my house and in a storage unit. Shark Tank took Ice Shaker to a full time job overnight. The sales exploded and so did the work. Emails and phone calls flooded in and I struggled to find enough time in the day to keep up.”?
