Derek Jeter is a friend to many. The Yankees icon once took the world by storm. As one of the creators of the Yankees dynasty, his sporting legacy has no rivals, but there is someone who has done as much, if not more, in their sport as Jeter has done in his. Incidentally, it’s football’s one of the renowned Quarterbacks, Tom Brady.

Derek Jeter recently gave an interview to the New York Post where he talked about a variety of topics. The Captain discussed his World Series wins and experiences that he experienced due to his fatherhood. An interesting point arose when he talked about Tom Brady joining him in a role that “is gonna pique the interest of the fan base.”

Derek Jeter on “what advice he would give to Tom Brady”

Derek Jeter has been a sports analyst for quite some time now. After winning accolades during his illustrious career, “Captain Clutch” is now winning hearts as an analyst. When the news came out that Tom Brady had signed a 10 year, $375 million deal with FOX Sports, it was but a matter of time before Derek was asked about Brady potentially joining him.

When Steve Serby of the New York Post asked him this question, this was Derek’s answer. “I don’t necessarily think Tom needs advice. As a football fan, I want to hear what Tom has to say about different situations in a game. He’s an expert at playing the game, playing the sport, and I think the insights he’s gonna be able to bring I think is gonna pique the interest of the fan base.”

As his words suggest, the Yanks icon is excited to hear Brady’s insights about football. Well, he is not alone as almost every football fan is waiting to see how the soon-to-be Pro-Football Hall of Famer does as an analyst. Surprisingly, this is not at all the first time that Derek has talked about Tom Brady. His appreciation for the legend goes a long way back.

When two greats of sports meet, the fans always get excited. Tom Brady and Derek Jeter have had a connection for quite some time now. From crossing each other’s paths multiple times to Brady renting a mansion owned by Jeter a few years ago, their connection keeps on growing strong.
