In the world of sports, fans’ affection and brutality go hand in hand. As passionate as fans can be, they are the best critics of their teams. Be it baseball or football, some players have their names etched in infamy. New York has plenty of them in both sports, as it turns out.
The city has a reputation for producing players with catastrophic performances. And now, the New York Giants quarterback is the highlight along with two Yankees worth $487 Million.

Walking down the 2023 regular season memory lane, one can see a series of events that have put Carlos Rodon under the radar. It has been a rocky journey for him, considering his derailment due to injuries and poor performances. The $162 million pitcher even told mlb.com, “It’s pretty disappointing. There’s not much else to say about it. Whenever your performance is bad, it’s never easy to flush”. With that, he made his way out of the good books of fans, joining hands with another disliked Bronx Bomber.

Giancarlo Stanton is known for creating new lows and inviting boos from fans. Owing to his advancing age, the 33-year-old appears lost at the plate at most times. History is proof of his below-par offense that has led the team to suffer losing streaks. The 13-year, $325 million contract has kept him tied to the NY Yankees. Meanwhile, a New York Giants QB has found himself in a similar situation.
On Monday night, Giants quarterback Daniel Jones honored his unfortunate tradition by starting the week with a defeat. Such was his performance. Playing against the Seattle Seahawks, Jones embarrassed himself as he could not get the rhythm of the offense right. Seeing 3 players from New York flopping on an international stage has fans talking about New York’s bleeding bank accounts.
Fans’ perspective on New York’s expenses
The fans took to X to speak their hearts out. One fan thinks Rodon is the “bigger thief”.
Definitely Rodón , he was the biggest disappointment ever. We all know who Jones is and he was paid to much because he won a playoff game.

Some fans stood by Jones, defending him from the heat of other comments.
I'll go with Jones as he's paid more $ per year.. and fought tooth and nail to get that kinda cash!!

Another post, in a similar vein, compared Jones with Giancarlo Stanton.

A couple of fans were disappointed that Stanton’s performance deteriorated over time.
Well the difference is Stanton was actually a good player at one point , Jones on the other hand was always a poindexter that couldn’t play dead

Some fans defended Jones against the accusations.
Jones didn’t steal anything, the giants made the choice to give a known terrible quarterback who has never put up good statistics in his entire career a 160 million dollar contract.
