Yu Darvish’s name stands as a testament to achieving dreams. The San Diego Padres pitcher broke into the MLB scenes with his hard work in 2012. Given all this, he knew exactly what it takes to be successful on the bigger stage. Upon Darvish’s Japan return, he first met Shohei Ohtani, who had a similar dream, and shared a life-changing advice.

On page 34, author Jeff Fletcher has explained the entire incident, “During that time, Darvish worked with Ohtani and helped teach him about nutrition and fitness. Darvish’ account read,He eliminated sugar from his diet and began eating brown rice instead of white rice.’

Ohtani recalled, “I’ve learned a lot about the kinds of food I eat and the timing of when I eat. It’s challenging, but it’s very important. Every year, I learn more interesting things. I’ve put on weight, and I feel more power in everything I do.”

The advice from the Padres pitcher helped Ohtani, who made his MLB debut a few years after the meet. It was visible after Ohtani raised everyone’s eyebrows with a brilliant performance on his debut.
