The NY Yankees are hands down the most remarkable sporting team across all the 4 Major League sports in North America. Founded in 1903, the New York Yankees have won 27 World Series Titles, 40 American League Pennants, and 20 AL East Division Titles. Analogous to their popularity over the years, their fan base, supporters, and critics have only grown. Balance against their over-achievements and high expectations, their recent victory drought is causing a serious wave of discontent amongst fans and popular media personalities.

Even this year, the Yankees are topping the AL East division by a significant margin at 73-45 (0.619). However, the series loss against Tampa Bay Rays resulted in their 5th straight series loss. Sports broadcaster and journalist Stephen A. Smith was furious about it. Notably, he’s a massive Yankee fan.

What does Stephen A. Smith have to say about the NY Yankees?

Last evening, the New York Yankees beat the Tampa Bay Rays 8-7 at the Yankee stadium. Despite the victory, the Yanks lost the series, 1-2, resulting in their 5th straight series defeat. Markedly, ESPN pundit Stephen A. Smith was livid and launched an absolute smear campaign into their series defeat.

In an attempt to sling mud on the Pinstripes, Smith used harsh language. Some would even say that a reaction like this was unnecessary and definitely avoidable. He says, “The Yankees, you look like trash right now. You look like flat-out trash. You’re straight garbage!” Moreover, he adds that he and everyone else expect much more from the Yankees.

Moving on, Smith discusses the recent success of the New York Mets. He compares the Mets’ owner Steve Cohen to former Yankees owner George Steinbrenner. He says, “They got an owner who’s the emulation or the closest replica to George Steinbrenner.” Moreover, he’s all praises for Jacob deGrom, who he believes is “unstoppable.”

Finally, he concludes with a World Series domination prediction for the New York Mets. He says, “I’m worried about the Mets because I’m a Yankee fan. And let me tell you what can’t happen to New York City. If you want to keep your job, the Mets can’t be in the World Series and the Yankees home.”

What next for the Yanks?

Resonating the opinion of multiple fans, Stephen A. Smith believes that the Yankees have to buckle up and make some hard decisions. Starting with letting Alex Boone go. In fact, in a rather aggressive tone, he says, “I AM TIRED OF ALEX BOONE.”
