Alex Rodriguez misses the jersey retirement ceremony

While it is still unclear whether Alex was invited to the ceremony or not, Kellerman thinks he still should have shown up at the Yankee stadium. Even if A-Rod was uninvited to the ceremony (still not clear), he should have shown up because it was the right thing to do.

Max Kellerman, during the show, said, “Whatever kind of distraction A-Rod may have felt he may have created, whether or not he would have felt welcomed by Jeter,… it says something about you. People admire the character of someone who shows up.“?

Following this, he said, “Triumphant shortstops, generation or two ago, was Jeter, A-Rod, and Garciaparra. And Jeter put up the lesser number of the three…And yet history will record that he was the guy who won.”?In reply to Max’s comment, Stephen said, “When Alex Rodriguez was retiring, Jeter called him, and Alex Rodriguez said, ‘My phone messages, my voicemail message box was full. I never got the message.'”?

According to Stephen, there were elements of disrespect shown over the span of 13 years between the two athletes.?
