Keeping aside the controversies that surrounded the Cincinnati Reds’ icon, Pete Rose, no one can deny the fact that he is one of the greatest players in the history of baseball.

In his 24 years as an athlete, he has broken many records. And he even got a nine-minute long standing ovation for the 3000th hit of his career, following which he cried.

In an interview with Graham Bensinger, Rose got asked about what he felt about losing. Therein, he talked about how he did not believe in ‘losing in stride’?and what he would do if he lost a game.

Charlie talked about the times when his team won the world series, and a player of the opposing team was in their clubhouse, congratulating them. He said that he could never be like that player.

He also said that if his friend won the world series and he was in the defeated team,?“I would call him the next day congratulating. But I’m not going to be part of his celebration,?Rose said.

Additionally, he said, “because I’m going to sit and analyze why we lost that game.”

The man spent more than two decades of his life as a player, and it is that part of him that does not believe in?‘losing in stride.’

He also said that losing hurts,?“You play the game to win.”??

According to him, a player cannot be a good professional athlete if he takes ‘losing in stride’. Because he would not want a player like that on his team. He would want a player, who would analyze why they lost the game and how could they rectify the situation.
