Then, after winning his first and the Bronx Bombers’ 27th world series, Captain Clutch sat for a series of interviews. In one of them, he revealed the reason behind his always staying grounded.

Notably, after winning the fifth world series of his career, Derek Jeter sat for multiple interviews. While doing so, he expressed his excitement and gratitude for the team’s success. During a conversation with Lisa Jandovitz and Jim Lisante on the episode of Close Encounter, Jeter spoke of what kept him leveled. Jandovitz, during the interview, asked Derek, “How do you keep grounded? How do you keep from getting a big head?” Without missing a beat, the former captain said, “You know my family, I really wouldn’t be over there.”

After this, he proceeded to say, “I don’t like people that bang in their own chest and want everyone to hear about them because anyone that’s been successful had a lot of help, and you know, for you to try to draw attention to yourself and talk only about yourself, I think you’re being unfair to other people.”
