New York Yankees are dominating the American League East. Not even any doubt about that. But the Pinstripes have been careless, at times. Notably, the Yankees suffered a late defeat because of defensive errors against the Chicago White Sox.

When it comes down to the offense, the Yankees have no match in the entire MLB. However, their careless defense is still a worrying sign for the Aaron Boone-led team. The Yankees have not even played half of the season, and in the recent game against the White Sox, they exposed their weaknesses.

If the Yankees really want to end their title drought in the Bronx, they must have to work on their defensive aspect. Because the season is far from being over, as there are over 100 games left to play. In the third game of the ongoing series against the White Sox, the defensive errors from the Yankees pitcher Aroldis Chapman and shortstop Isiah Kiner-Falefa cost them the game.

New York Yankees’ Aaron Boone wants Isiah Kiner-Falefa to read the game well

One mistake by Isiah Kiner-Falefa cost the entire game for the Yankees. At once, during the ninth inning of the game, thanks to Joey Gallo’s walk-off, the Yankees tied the game. But Kiner-Falefa killed the game after an error from the third base.

Notably, the Yankees were on a winning streak of five games. But, with this 3-2 loss against the White Sox, they failed to continue their winning streak. Not only Kiner-Falefa, but the Yankees ace Aroldis Chapman also had a poor game. Notably, Chapman was the starting pitcher for the Yankees.

Reacting to the defeat, the Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, said that he expects a better performance from Kiner-Falefa. Because as a shortstop, he must tag and read.

“First of all, he has got to be tagging up, and then it’s a read…,” Aaron Boone said. “You gotta tag, read it, and then go back. I think he read it high and felt like he could get there…”

Well, even after this defeat, the Yankees are still alive in the series. If they win the next game, the Pinstripes will win the four-game series against the White Sox. Though this defeat won’t affect the Yankees much, every opponent saw the loophole in their squad.
