New York Mets have been the dark horse of the ongoing MLB Season. The Buck Showalter-led team has been nothing but outstanding this season. And now, with Jacob deGrom and Max Scherzer back from their injuries, the NY Mets? rotation is like a nightmare for the opposition teams.
Recently, the Mets played a three-game series against the Philadelphia Phillies. And as expected, the New York Mets won the series 2-1 against the Phillies on their own turf. Apart from having an excellent pitching unit, the Mets also have a balanced batting lineup.

In the name of Pete Alonso, Francisco Lindor, and Mark Canha, the Mets have enough strength in their batting lineup. However, the Phillies’ broadcasters do not believe so. Per them, the Mets have been getting lots of lucky hits to score runs in the ballparks.
Have the NY Mets been getting lucky hits all over the season?
Whether the NY Mets are getting the lucky hits or not, they will not mind as long as it is helping them win the games. But the bigger question is, have the Mets been really lucky to score runs through lucky hits?
When talking about the most recent game, the Phillies’ broadcasters discussed the same. Per a video doing rounds on the internet, one of the Phillies? broadcasters said the Mets got four lucky hits in a single game against the Phillies.
?You don’t like to make excuses and they have hit around a little bit. But the hits they have are 67.9, 67.3, 74.8, and 66.3 off the back. And some of those were key hits with runners to scoring position… Oh, yeah! That four-run anything they definitely,? the Phillies? broadcasters discussed during the game.

Notably, the Mets won the game by 6-0 and also clinched the three-game series. As earlier said, even if the Mets have been scoring runs through lucky hits, at the end of the day, winning the game matters the most.
James McCann hit a ball 67.3mph and it was a single that scored two runs, including a runner from first base. Some bad luck and some bad defense in this inning.

Getting lucky hits in a game is a once-in-a-while incident. And not only the Mets, but every team gets such opportunities to score through lucky hits.
Currently, the NY Mets have the second-best record in the entire Major League Baseball. And if things do not go south, the Mets have a golden opportunity to win the National League Pennant and the World Series this season.
