After a topsy-turvy 2023, folks of MLB have taken to celebrating the day of gratitude in their own ways. Whether it is being an audience to another sport, being a part of the Thanksgiving parade, or taking on a fitness challenge, the players have done it all. Rightly so, it is ‘Turkey Day’.

Multiple players took to social media to share snippets of how they spent their 23rd November. The much-chased Yoshinobu Yamamoto enjoyed great seats as an audience to last night’s Los Angeles Lakers game as tweeted by @TalkinBaseball_. Blake Snell, another hot free-agent was at Lumen Field watching the Seattle Seahawks play. Well, apart from being passive partakers of another sport, there were players who indulged in other fun activities.

Pete Alonso, the covered New York Mets’ power hitter, posted a picture of himself celebrating Thanksgiving with his wife Haley Walsh. The two were at the colorful Macy’s Thanksgiving Day parade and @SNY_Mets tweeted about the same.
On the other hand, Tim Anderson had a simplistic celebration in his hometown. @MLB tweeted a post and captioned it, “Tim Anderson held a Thanksgiving turkey drive in his hometown of Tuscaloosa, Alabama❤️”.

That said, the legendary New York Yankees shortstop, gave his celebration another angle. The ever-so-active Alex Rodriguez celebrated this special day with a very specific call to action. He posted a story on Instagram, challenging folks to do “50 pull-ups” before dinner and tag him. Though this was more like a dare, the underlying message was to highlight the importance of fitness. Along with that, it is implied that one must be thankful for good health and must strive to stay healthy. That said, despite the celebratory mood, there is work to do.
