The rumors started after the San Diego Padres signed former Red Sox shortstop Xander Bogaerts on a long-term contract. Tatis Jr.’s position as a shortstop in the Padres has people believe the Padres might be on the lookout to trade Tatis Jr. after his suspension because of PEDs usage. Days after the rumors of Tatis Jr to the Yankees, YES Network’s analyst Jack Curry weighed in on the topic from the front office’s view.
Fernando Tatis Jr to become a part of the New York Yankees?
Now that Carlos Correa has also signed with the Giants, MLB fans believe that the Yankees will go after Tatis Jr. And the rumor of the same has been making noise in the MLB world.
However, analyst Jack Curry took it upon himself to clear the air once and for all. Until now, the rumors looked like the Padres wanted to trade Tatis Jr after his PEDs suspension, and for that only, they brought Bogaerts as a shortstop. But Curry put rest to the rumors by providing the Bronx’s side of the matter.
After talking about the ongoing rumors to the front office, Curry said on the YES Network, “It’s not something that ever been discussed. it’s not something that ever been considered. It’s not something that is even on the Yankees’ radar.”

One mistake altered the course of Tatis’ career:
Earlier this season, the Padres’ shortstop Fernando Tatis Jr. tested positive for taking performance-enhancing drugs. As a result, he got banned from playing 80 games. But the shortstop said that the positive result came from using a medication that contained the prohibited substance.
