The Chicago Cubs are among one of the oldest teams in Major League Baseball history. And as is the case with most classic teams of old, there exist generations of fans that have stayed loyal throughout the years. They have seen the Chicago White Stockings become the Chicago Cubs. They have seen the team appear in eleven World Series championships, and win three. And they have seen the city’s North Side team play at Wrigley Field since 1916.

Originally built in 1914 as Weeghman Park, Wrigley Field has seen a number of iconic moments over the years. Who could forget David Bote’s ultimate slam in 2018 or Tuffy Rhodes hitting three homers on Opening Day in 1994? Many Chicagoans have built lifetime memories at the ballpark over the decades and they continue to do so even today. Traveling to the stadium and witnessing a baseball game is a sacred tradition for many. But if given the chance, who wouldn’t love to stay at a place a stone’s throw from the Friendly Confines?

Reporter Darren Rovell announced on Twitter yesterday that a century-old house that is merely 300 feet from Wrigley Field just went up for sale. It boasts a space of 3,000 square feet with two separate units; one with three bedrooms and two bathrooms and a second with three bedrooms and one bathroom. Located in the 1100 block of West Addison, it also features a basement with a washer and dryer and a partial bathroom.

Currently listed at $1.1 million in the Chicago home market, the house has reportedly not been renovated in 60+ years. The place is being sold as is and is also listed as a ‘great investment’ with the potential for ‘huge income for years’.

Chicago Cubs fans react to the news

Anyone would be excited if a prospect like this pops up. And some fans certainly thought the asking price for the house was too low given where it’s located.

One fan thought it was the same house that Carl and Ellie lived in in the Pixar movie?Up.

One fan wondered why the owner was even moving from this prime location.

Some gave their thoughts on whether the house needed any changes or not.
