The Winter Meetings are known to propel things into motion. Though there has not been any formal statement out by any of the teams, one can pick up cues. As per updates, Brian Cashman and Aaron Boone’s unconventional display might hint at something good for the Bronx.

While the good news could mean anything, there is a high chance of it being the Juan Soto trade. It is not a secret how desperate the New York Yankees have been for the Dominican. And if their efforts would come to fruition, the Yanks have all the right to celebrate. But amid many “No comment”s and “wouldn’t say”s, there were some signs.

As per @BryanHoch’s X post, a clip was retweeted where Cashman was all praises for Juan Soto. He addressed the player, “He’s an impact bat. One of the best hitters in the game.” The conviction that the Yankees GM spoke with was summed up by Hoch’s tweet that read, “Interesting how openly Yankees people have been talking about a player on another team 🤔”. Now that’s quite unorthodox in the Bronx.

This was not the only hint to pick up on. Another source, @ChrisCotillo, of the Boston Red Sox tweeted a description of an interaction between Boone and Alex Cora, the manager of the Red Sox. The former’s happy expression could mean that something will happen soon. Maybe it’s only a matter of time for the officials to break their silence.

If Juan Soto were to get on board with the Yankees, he could solve a lot of problems. The team would have a left-handed hitter as well as a defensive presence in left field. In any case, the Yankees want to strengthen their roster and add a new offensive weapon.

But while the offense has struggled, the bullpen could use some help too. What about Yoshinobu Yamamoto then?

Could Yamamoto Join the New York Yankees too?

Yes, one of the many suitors for Yoshinobu Yamamoto is New York. But could it be possible that the Bronx welcomes both these expensive players? While as per the team’s requirements, Soto speculatively makes more sense, the Japanese star could do no damage, but quite the contrary. Amid a potential Soto-Yankees deal, it is not to be forgotten that the current San Diego Padres star, is a ‘brief’ catch.
