It’s been almost a week since baseball came alive, and almost every team is done with their first series of the season. Out of those, many have already begun their second series. And that includes the New York team of the Queens, aka New York Mets. After winning a four-game series against the Miami Marlins, the Mets went to Milwaukee and suffered a terrible defeat of 10-0.

After spending almost half a billion dollars and acquiring some of the best players in the off-season, the Mets have given their fans the hope of a great season ahead. However, this horrible defeat, that too, pretty early in the season, has upset the fans and they are rethinking their allegiance to the team.

Mets owner Steve Cohen went to great lengths in the off-season to make the team as strong as possible. But as it turned out, even half a billion dollars could not stop the Mets from suffering such a lousy defeat against the team that spent only $4.5 million in the offseason. Considering what the Mets spent, it is indeed pocket change for them. Even though wins and losses are a part of the game, a defeat like this wasn’t expected by the Mets fans.

Who did the Mets acquire in the offseason?

The highlight of the Mets’ off-season would be their failed deal with Carlos Correa over medical issues. Aside from this, they signed Justin Verlander on a two-year contract for $86 million, Kodai Senga on a five-year contract for $75 million, Brandon Nimmo for $162 million, Edwin Diaz for $102 million, and many others.
