New York Yankees are the talk of the town because of their poor season. Sitting last in the AL East, the Yanks are 8.5 games behind the top-placed Baltimore Orioles. Though they have won their previous two games, both wins came against the in-dominant Royals. And the question is still there, whether the Pinstripes will make the playoffs. Given Alex Rodriguez played for the Yankees for 12 years, there is no better person to answer this.

Recently, he was a guest on the Michael Kay Show. On the show, he answered the question about the Yankees’ playoff chances while analyzing their season so far. He also addressed one difference that makes the Braves a better team. His comments received a positive response from the fans, who agreed with his take on the Yank’s struggles.

Alex Rodriguez was a part of the Pinstripes squad that won the 2009 World Series title. Notably, the Yankees have not won any title since then. Alex, who retired in 2016, knows the team and the structure in and out. As an MLB analyst also, Rodriguez has noticed changes that might be pushing the Yankees into the circle of too much to handle. He addressed the same on The Michael Kay Show.

They shared an audio clip of this conversation with a backdrop of the question, “We asked @AROD if the Yankees will make the playoffs and why they’re struggling”

Rodriguez seemed confident of the Yankees making it to the playoffs. He shared, “Definitely, I think they will be in the playoffs. There’s too much talent in that clubhouse.” He then focused on the struggles and options for Aaron Boone and shared, “I think he’s very limited on what he can do. You have a very stagnant roster which presents challenges.”

Though the highlight of the conversation was his comparison between the Yankees and the Braves. While bringing in the choice of Yankees of involving analytics after winning 26 titles, he said, “And I think sometimes it’s too much. I think you have teams. Or these analytic teams are not doing their job.”

He added Braves are doing better because apart from Analytics; they have guys like Alex Anthopoulos and a coaching team with over 150 years of major league baseball experience. He pointed out that the Yankees currently lack this. Interestingly, it synced with the fans’ emotions, who gave their thought to this entire episode.

Fans Agree With Rodriguez’s Assessment of the Struggling Yankees

The Yankees fanbase is not happy with the management and loved Alex’s take. Agreeing with his thoughts, they asked him to be the GM of the team. Few said he should be the manager. Here are a few of the tweets that show a similar picture.

Fans agree with A-Rod and value his thought process.
