The New York Yankees won Game 1 against the Kansas City Royals. They were in no way on top of their game—but they won. In game 2, they weren’t lucky enough and lost the game 4-2 against the Royals. Aaron Judge failed to deliver at the clutch moments. And as we have seen, mostly when Judge goes on a slump, so does the entire team. Game 1 too, Judge was keeping up with his postseason dilemma and had plenty of lapses, but the team pulled through. The second time around, not so much luck!
This game win was pivotal for the Royals because it got the stats even out. And the Royals are now heading back to Kansas City for their first playoff game since the 2015 World Series. But while they were enjoying the spotlight. Breaking news—someone wanted to steal the thunder—and undermine their play by calling the win a fluke and that they are just ‘lucky’. Ouch! That someone being Jazz Chisolm Jr. And it’s not like he regrets his decision; he even backed it up with why he said so.

While the Kansas City Royals won the game fair and wife, Jazz Chisholm Jr. doesn’t believe they have earned their win. The Yankees third baseman didn’t mince his words and said that the Royals got lucky to win Game 2. “I don’t feel like anybody feels any different. We’re going to go out there and do our thing; we still don’t feel like any team is better than us. We had a lot of missed opportunities tonight, so they just got lucky,” Chisholm told MLB.com’s Bryan Hoch. This created headlines, and he recently only came to his socials, not to apologize but rather to explain why he said so.
If you don’t believe you gonna win it you won’t ! So you better speak this shii into existence and believe! #LFG‼️

Jazz Chisolm Jr. on Tuesday took to X and said, “If you don’t believe you’re going to win it, you won’t! So you better speak this s*** into existence and believe! #LFG.” Well, he believes in the power of manifestation; that’s great! But will it be enough to break the curse that’s on the team possible from the 09’ time? They haven’t won since the last time they won was when A-Rod and Jeter were in the team.
No doubt the Yankees have Aaron Judge on the team. He is compared to the Babe Ruth and Lou Gehrig. But the judge—in regular season and post-season—is a whole different person. It’s what has happened before, and it is what’s happening now. So as Derek Jeter said, the Yankees need more than Judge; they need the entire team to perform and do it now!

Aaron Boone didn’t quite agree with what Jazz Chisholm Jr. had to say about the Royals getting lucky, but he understood where the message was coming from. Boone said, “I don’t think they got lucky; I think they did a lot of really good things and came in here and beat us. But I also looked at the line of questioning. What he was referring to more was probably we did hit into some tough luck—there were some hard-hit balls.” Meanwhile, the Royals catcher had something different to say.
Salvador Perez said he wasn’t at all bothered by the chatter and talk by Chisholm Jr. When asked about his comment, Perez shrugged it off, saying, “I don’t worry about that. What’s the next question?” And if you thought it was just words the teams exchanged, you’d be wrong. During game 2, drama was on display on the field too.

The Yankees pitcher Carlos Rodon came out to hit, striking out the side and wagging his tongue in the Royals dugout. But that didn’t end well, as Perez came up in the fourth inning and crushed a home run off him. Then Perez threw a tonguewag back at Rondon! The rivalry is heating up, though it is not as strong as it was back in the 70s or the 80s.
