The New York Yankees are one of those teams without any advertisement patches on their jerseys. But it has changed after their latest move. The Yankees signed a deal with Starr Insurance and will have the company’s patch on the Jersey.

The New York Yankees shared the news on their official Twitter handle. It read, “The New York Yankees are proud to welcome Starr Insurance as our new signature partner @StarrCompanies.” Though this move hints towards a patch, it seems to have segregated the team from its history.

The Yankees fans, who never wanted a move like this, have left them ridiculing the change. They have registered their thoughts, apprehensions, and disapprovals in the following tweets.

Reflecting on the Yankees’ history, a fan went as far as to express their uncertainty about recognizing the team anymore.

This latest move fell far short of the fans’ desires for the Yankees.

A fan even went as far as saying that this deal is the major loss ever for the team.

The fans have expressed their dissatisfaction with this particular deal, which has caused discontent among them. Considering the team’s disappointing season thus far, this move has further unsettled the fans. Though, what makes the Yankees choose it? It’s the lucrative multi-million dollar deal.

An enticing multi-million dollar deal for the Yankees

Having an advertisement patch is not new for the league. Many MLB teams have it, but now the Yankees would be part of it. They will have a Star insurance patch on home and away jerseys. The deal is $25 million per year for said sleeve rights. Sports reporter Darren Rovell shared this news on his Twitter handle.

It read, “Sources: Starr Insurance deal that gives them Yankee uniform patch has an average annual value of $25 million a year.”

He also stated that there were higher bidders for the same, but the Yankees found this deal the best fit. But as clearly visible in the fans’ comments regarding the move, the deal is still unfit.
