You can hit the lowest low and face the darkest dark, but you can always get yourself up and find the light. That’s exactly what has been the case with the New York Yankees’ $162 million star. The Yankees star struggled early in this season, but now he is gradually getting into the groove and shutting up the ones who criticized him for a poor display. Joining hands with him is the Yankees manager, Aaron Boone, who has also fired back at the critics, justifying the star’s bold prediction.

Yes, we are talking about Carlos Rodón, who has had a strong stretch recently. Rodón managed to win for the fifth time, delivering strong pitching for six innings. Not only did it put an end to all the criticism surrounding him, but his strong performance also led the Yankees to become the second team to achieve 30 wins in the American League after winning 1-0 against the Texas Rangers on Thursday.

Praising Carlos Rodon’s performance, manager Aaron Boone said, “I tried to tell you this when he gave up the three-run homers and everyone was losing their mind. He’s about to roll off a bunch in a row.” Boone also talked about how he has made ten or eleven starts, and he has been quite strong there as well.  And that’s true—Rodón allowed just a couple of hits in the win and went 5-0 with a 1.32 ERA.

The left-hander managed to strike out eight, walking two, and 67 out of the 105 pitches went for strikes. Furthermore, Rodón allowed only a single to Josh Jung and made two outs in the first inning itself. Although he gave away a double to Sam Haggerty, he came back stronger and retired Jung.

While it was Rodon’s performance that had the Yankees winning, Jorbit Vivas’ home run also is worthy of praise for the New York Yankees’ win. Boone looked content with the way the team is going at the moment. “A pitch here and there and a couple of them and it’s, you know, he’s at another level. But it’s been a lot of really good,” Aaron Boone said, heaping praise on Rodon and how he has managed to break the shackles and deliver consistently.

Yankees $162M Star opens up after a stellar display

While Aaron Boone was the first one to hit back at the critics who questioned Carlos Rodón’s performance and early struggles in the season, the $162 million star has opened up on his six scoreless innings. During the post-game conference, when asked about what stood out for him when he was throwing the ball, Carlos Rodón said, “Umm, you know, I thought JC was great behind the plate, just, uh, got on a roll, I think after the second or third and then defensively, we had some great players on it.”

What’s your perspective on:

Is Carlos Rodón finally proving his critics wrong, or is this just a temporary hot streak?

Rodón further continued saying about Cody Bellinger, who got to the ball, which was a change-up from his end that was pushed to the right center. Bellinger covered the ground and managed to get to that ball. But there’s more that could be the highlights of the game. For Rodón , it was J. C. Escarra, who played a vital role in the win and also behind his scoreless innings. Heaping praise on him, Rodón said, “He’s just good. He’s really great behind the plate. You know, obviously, the glove is great, and then the pitching was just, you know, superb with the, you know, changeup to finish.”

It’s also the way Berger and Rodón chased some of the sliders from the changeup and made the win possible. Rodón , though, wants to continue playing deep into the games, pitching 67 innings and recording as many outs as possible. When it does, the offense is there to handle the remainder.
