The San Diego Padres have signed some high-profile players in recent years. Consequently, improved performances have thus shown up in their results. Therefore, continuing the trend, the Padres have added another string to their bow. Thus, the Padres have recently signed up the swashbuckling Xander Bogaerts into their frame.

And with Bogaerts by their side, the Padres have one of the best lineups in the entire league. With Manny Machado, Juan Soto, and Fernando Tatis Jr., Bogaerts’ inclusion has made the Padres nothing but a brilliant offensive side. However, the MLB fans are still trashing the Padres for consistently spending big chunks on several players.

What did the fans have to say about the San Diego Padres’ latest move? 

Xander Bogaerts has now reportedly signed a $280 million contract with the Padres for an 11-year period. Thus, the Padres have now further strengthened their offense. The only thing that remains a concern for the Padres is their defense. If the Padres sign a couple of decent pitchers this offseason, they will be one of the favorites to win the championship in 2023.

And that is the main reason the Padres’ fans are not happy with their batting lineup. Because if any team aims to win a championship, they must need a balanced squad, something the Padres are lacking right now. Taking to Twitter, the Padres’ fans expressed their opinions.

The Talkin’ Baseball network shared the news on their official Twitter account quoting, “Here’s how the Padres look right now.”

Therefore, the lineup didn’t make a big impact on the fans, irrespective of everything. Though Bogaerts and his teammates have got the chance to prove everyone wrong. Only time will tell how far the San Diego Padres will go in the 2023 MLB season with their current squad.

Bogaerts made his MLB debut with the Red Sox in 2013. He is a four-time All-Star player. Additionally, he has also won two World Series championships. When talking about his recent season, Bogaerts did not have a memorable season with the Boston Red Sox. However, his talent did not go unnoticed by the Padres.
