The New York Yankees‘ disastrous season continues. Even with Aaron Judge back in the lineup, the season seems hopeless. The team just lost the series opener to the Chicago White Sox, a team even lower in the rankings. And in the middle of a terrible 5-1 loss was the club’s other Aaron imitating an umpire.

Recent years have seen an increasing backlash against umpire decisions and a call for robo umps. While all 30 MLB teams are employing technology at the minor league level, commissioner Rob Manfred has made no promises at the major league level. So while fans await robots to make decisions, team managers are successfully getting ejected over arguments with umpires.

In the recent match vs Chicago, the Yankees once again lacked offensive power. Then in the eighth inning, Laz Diaz, the home plate umpire, called out Anthony Volpe on strikes. Contesting this decision, Boone emerged out of the dugout, absolutely livid.

His emotions got the better of him as he shouted expletives at Diaz and proceeded to point out exactly where the ump had made the bad calls. Boone even drew a line in the dirt and imitate his call with extended arm action.

All the while, the two argued back and forth, each believing in their own decision. It was a show worthy of the theatres as Boone continued his mockery. Ultimately, other umpires and the Yankees bench coach Carlos Mendoza had to forcefully drag him away.

Needless to say, he was ejected, his 6th of the season. According to FOX Sports, Boone now leads the American League in manager ejections.

The skipper has come under constant fire this season and while some supported this stance, most fans only had words to berate. Some pointed out hilarious similarities to a rapper.

New York Yankees Fans Brutally Mock the Skipper

Even Anthony Volpe seemed unsure if Boone was fighting on the right terms. But the manager had had enough after Diaz made the wrong calls for DJ LeMahieu and Harrison Bader on the plate. “We had our chances tonight. It’s not about the umpiring. We’ve got to capitalize,” he later told MLB.com.

Nevertheless, his image did not improve in the eyes of Bronx fans. Many surprisingly agreed with the ump’s call.

Some compared him to the rapper Soulja Boy.
