It has been a season of highs and lows. Many teams have failed to construct positive results and lost momentum. But that has not been the case for the reigning MLB champions, Houston Astros. They have done amazingly well this season. It is visible in their lead in the AL West, which indicates a third consecutive top-place finish. Because of it, the Stars look set to defend their title. But it seems there is a change in it.
A top-place finish guarantees a direct spot in the playoffs. Being a current champion, the Astros wanted to have this luxury. But that has changed with two straight series losses, which has also questioned their aspirational future. Fans who did not expect this to be the case have reacted strongly to it and have shared their disappointments in the open.

A disappointing week at the office for the Houston Astros
It was not the week the Houston Astros looked for. The current leaders of the division lost two series against the bottom two teams. The losses came against the Oakland Athletics and the Kansas City Royals. Notably, both teams have lost over 100 games and are languishing last in their respective groups.

Given the playoffs are not too far, it has come as a shock for the Astros, who looked in great shape a week back. These losses have also put their division title in jeopardy, with Texas Rangers closing in. As the division title provides the much-needed momentum for teams going into the playoffs, losing it would be another setback for the Stars.
But given that the Rangers are also on a losing reason, the Dusty Baker-led side can take charge and get back to its best. And with a division win, it can reignite another championship-winning dream. However, fans from Houston feel otherwise.
Houston fans bring out their worst fears while reacting to the latest results
It has been a unique story for the Houston Astros fans. Their team has done amazingly well over the past few seasons and has fulfilled all the objections. But all the success has only increased their aspirations, which includes a title defense.
After moving on a similar path, when the Astros changed the scene with the latest results, it disappointed the fans. It was visible in the fear and anger of their dream of another championship getting shattered.
