Major League Baseball often takes us through a rollercoaster of emotions. But we often forget that the players also experience pain. One such poignant moment unfolded on Friday during the game between the Arizona Diamondbacks and the Tampa Bay Rays. During the live broadcast, the Diamondbacks’ $111 million star was found shaking his right shoulder after a swing of his bat and his uncomfortable stance soon caused panic among the fans.
Under the bright lights and amid the cheering crowd at Chase Field, an intense showdown between the Diamondbacks and Rays gave us many reasons to smile. Although the Diamondbacks fell to the Rays in the extra inning, Corbin Carroll shined as an offensive firepower. However, his discomfort in the right shoulder didn’t get unnoticed and fans started to speculate about a serious injury that might be on the cards.
In a game marked by astounding individual efforts and collective struggles, Corbin Carroll was the player to look out for. Carroll hit not one but two home runs, demonstrating his exceptional offensive firepower. The exit velocity of his bat peaked at 108 mph when he blasted a towering 403-foot shot against the Rays’ Mason Montgomery. Although this hit gave the Diamondbacks a lead over the Rays, things didn’t go their way. However, following a bat swing in his final at-bat, Carroll was observed shaking his right shoulder, clearly in discomfort.

For those who are unaware, Corbin Carroll had already left because of some stiffness in his lower back. Could it be that the issue is resurfacing and affecting his swing? Perhaps not, but based on the visuals, Carroll has undoubtedly been experiencing pain, as evidenced by the frequent shoulder movements he made prior to being pitched.
If you remember, it was the right shoulder that led him to miss nearly the entire 2021 season. He even had to undergo surgery to ensure that a labrum tear and posterior capsular avulsion were resolved. Now that Carroll is facing similar problems, fans are worried.
And guess what, we all are right?

Diamondbacks $111M star’s discomfort is a worry sign for the team and its fans
A fan voiced his concerns about the Arizona Diamondbacks‘ $111 million star in response to the live broadcast, emphasizing the importance of keeping an eye on him. He wrote, “Don’t do this to me…,” clearly indicating that it’s the last thing he wants to see. So far this season, Corbin Carroll has batted at a .327 average, having a .404 on-base percentage with a 1.097 OPS. He is currently at the top of the MLB leaderboard, hitting nine home runs and has managed to hit in 20 out of his 24 games. Quite extraordinary, isn’t it?
However, despite performing exceptionally well, another person is not convinced that he is okay. “Not convinced he was over the shoulder, regardless of how he’s been playing. That shoulder has massive red flags.” It’s true, because Carroll underwent surgery during the 2021 season. It’s definitely a matter of concern for the Diamondbacks, considering that he has been one of the best offensive players on the team. More significantly, the injury scare could have a negative impact on the team even though he has worked hard to keep his shoulders healthy.
A similar thing happened with the San Diego Padres’ Fernando Tatís Jr., who also used to swing quite hard to a single-arm finish. In the end, that proved disastrous because he needed to have a major operation to correct his left shoulder labrum. Fortunately, as of now, nothing looks serious. There has been no official announcement regarding any injuries to the Diamondbacks lineup, so everything is set to go.
