After a great season and helping his team win a World Series, the young shortstop has come a long way. By giving a stellar performance last year, Pena earned some of the prestigious accolades to his name, including the World Series MVP, ALCS MVP, Gold Glove, and Babe Ruth awards. Notably, the Astros fans are waiting to see Pena living up to his nickname, La Tormenta, again this upcoming season.
Before it happens, the star shortstop looked upon last season, which pushed him toward a complete overhaul. Talking about his offseason focus, Pena spoke, “I worked a little bit more on my body. Last year, toward the end of the year, I felt I was getting a little tired. This year we worked on a couple of things, more routine based, knowing what I have to do in-season to stay on top of my game.”
Needless to say, after this confession, the ballplayer has left his fans wondering how Pena did a tremendous job in the postseason despite feeling tired.
Astros fans are left flabbergasted
The fans are left wondering about the shortstop’s tremendous play. The reason behind them being surprised is nothing but thinking if he could do such a fantastic job while tired, then how would he perform after his jacked-up transformation?
This is how the fans reacted:
Funny that the guy who got "tired" at the end of the year was our playoffs / WS MVP.

This man by his own admission was feeling tired toward the end of the year and won the ALCS and WS MVP awards. Peña is a monster. Sky is the limit for his potential https://t.co/RtoxT3pLMJ
