The rookie shortstop had hit.253 with a .715 on-base plus a slugging percentage. And he hit 22 home runs in 136 regular-season games. Peña was a boon for the Astros, not only defensively but also at the plate. With these 22, he hit another four in the postseason. By that, he helped his team hold the World Series Trophy.
The win had not come easy. But the Astros did make it seem pretty easy. Because they easily swept off the Seattle Mariners in the ALDS and the New York Yankees in the ALCS to reach the World Series. Naturally, fans are getting crazy to meet the star player who made all of it happen.
