Aaron Judge has always been in the spotlight, but never has he been this close to getting his first World Series ring! He has had a stellar regular season, hitting 322 with 58 home runs and 144 RBI. Even though Judge’s post-season woes are no secret and have been an ongoing affair, this time, the New York Yankees have made it through – thanks to the entire bullpen!
Now, all that stands between the Yankees and breaking the long-awaited World Series championship is the LA Dodgers, and of course, the Shohei Ohtani. It’s two of the plausible MVPs going up against each other. Two Megatron from the two biggest franchises of the sport, together for the Fall Classic. Everyone is excited! Meanwhile, Judge is aware of the competition; however, being the sport that he is, he couldn’t help but praise Ohtani.

Aaron Judge and Shohei Ohtani are coming off historic seasons. On one side is All Rise, who carried the Yanks forward through the regular season. The Yankees are looking to break the championship drought they have been facing since 09’. And on the other hand, is Ohtani, whose iconic 50-50 club inauguration tops the list. If you think the world has talked about Ohtani’s feat enough, Judge would gladly disagree.
Talking to reporters on Tuesday, Aaron Judge said, “He [Ohtani] hits for average; he hits for power, the speed.” And then Judge wasn’t shy to claim, “He’s an impressive, impressive athlete, the best player in the game, and what an ambassador for this sport.” According to the judge, what Ohtani did with the 50 stolen bases got talked about a lot, but just not enough. For the Yankee star, the Dodger icon deserved more spotlight.
Here, of course, the New York Yankee captain is taking the right road. But Judge has always been the one at the forefront to dish our praises for his fellow baseball stars. Fans of the Bronx icon might disagree on Ohtani being the best player, but the Judge statement highlights why he was the perfect successor to Derek Jeter.

Is Shohei Ohtani truly the best player in the world, or does Judge have a claim to that title?
Have an interesting take?
Shohei Ohtani proved why he was well worth every dollar that the Dodgers spent on him. And by defeating the final hurdle, winning 10-5 with the New York Mets went to make their place in the World Series. Ohtani just got closer, to one of his childhood dreams – winning the World Series. And he is thrilled! He after all never got the chance to come so far as the postseason, let alone the World Series with the Angels. So, this is huge, but Ohtani is an experienced player; he knows the way forward isn’t easy.

“You know two really good teams competing against each other; you know obviously Judge is a really good player, but so is Soto and a lot of the players on the Yankees team,” said Shohei Ohtani. Even with the major feats he has done, there is not a hint of attitude in the Japanese player. He agrees, that the competition is tough. Ohtani mentioned that it’s going to take a team effort for the LA Dodgers to tackle the Yankees, and he isn’t wrong.
The LA Dodgers sure do have stars like Ohtani himself, Freddie Freeman, and Mookie Betts. But so do the New York Yankees, like Aaron Judge, Juan Soto, and more. Also, historically, the Yanks have won more times than they have met with the Dodgers. So letting their guard down at this moment is a mistake.
