The Los Angeles Dodgers’ manager, Dave Roberts, has been making headlines right now! Dave’s recent statement sends a strong signal to the rival teams, mentioning that they are ready to go all in. 2024 has been a special year for the Dodgers, as they won the World Series title, and now Dave is quite hopeful to win the World Series another time. But why does Dave look so confident?
Well, Dave Roberts, the two-time World Series champion, has everything to offer the Dodgers. Remember Roberts constantly looking to get Tanner Scott since December? He made it happen as the Dodgers finally got their new reliever, maybe a late Christmas gift in January. Roberts signed him to a four-year, $72 million contract because he wanted him for the long haul. So, it looks like Dave has been true to his words of being ready.

The Dodgers’ manager, Dave Roberts, has been with the team for a long time, and in these nine years, he has taken every right step to make it count on the field. Even though the team did not trade many players, they have had a much higher retention rate than the other teams. But what stands out is not only the players’ on-field performance but also Roberts’s team management. During a podcast on February 2, Dave said, “So guys are ready to go. So certainly starting pitchers; it’s a quicker ramp up, so they got to be, you know, throwing their sides and being ready to go, and hitters have got to be ready to go.” He feels quite relieved as a manager, as the players are willing to give their best all the time. But that doesn’t end here!

Dave Roberts recalled the memories of using the spring training to get back into shape; however, that’s not the case anymore. He went on to say that they have little time left to go to the Arizona Camelback Ranch before the start of the Tokyo Series. Dave also made a surprising revelation about Tyler Glasnow’s comeback from his injury that happened during the World Series. Glasnow has been one of the better starters in MLB, as he made a 9-6 record with a 3.49 ERA and 168 strikeouts in 2024. Now, with his return, the Dodgers look more dominant than ever.
Dave is dreaming of the World Series title again
With the guys ready to go and give their best, Dave Roberts is quite hopeful of winning the World Series title again. Given the players that the Dodgers have, they look like a formidable force to reckon with, and it’s even better for a manager like Roberts. While their new Japanese pitcher, Roki Sasaki, will be in rotation alongside Shohei Ohtani and Yoshinobu Yamamoto, their inclusion of Tanner Scott is worth mentioning. Scott has been one of the major relievers over the past couple of seasons, and he just came off the 2024 season, posting a 1.75 ERA, which made him to the All-Star team too. But there’s more to talk about!

The Dodgers have put faith in another pitcher, Kirby Yates, who posted a 1.17 ERA while making 33-for-34 in terms of save opportunities and made it to the All-Star team too. Then there is Teoscar Hernandez, the outfielder, who also came off a good season, making 33 home runs with 569 AB and a.272 average. Other than that, the Dodgers also have Blake Snell, Michael Confordo, and others, who are all proven talents who will like to perform to their potential and, at the same time, remain aligned with the culture too. Not only does it strengthen the cohesion within the team, but it would also increase the Dodgers’ chances to win the World Series title again.
