The Los Angeles Angels have been having a disastrous season, except for a few bright spots here and there. The team’s resident superstar, two-way sensation Shohei Ohtani, has catapulted them into history more than once. But they’ve been unable to support him from the wings, always falling short. And he’s not the only one the Halos have failed. Mike Trout is a three-time MVP and an eleven-time All-Star, and yet, the slugger has never even appeared in a World Series.

2023 has not treated Trout well as injuries riddled him. Recently, he’s been recovering from a left hamate fracture and subsequent surgery. After activating him too early, the center fielder had to return to the IL after just 48 hours. He cannot participate in baseball activities yet, so helping the Angels is out of the question. So Trout is focusing on his other interests in the meantime, and that may be the Halos’ undoing.

No More Baseball, it’s Golf Time For Mike Trout

Avid golfer Mike Trout has been building his dream course in New Jersey, called Trout National – The Reserve. Partnering with none other than one of the best in the sport, the Angels slugger has been taking help from Tiger Woods. Designing the layout of the golf greens, the duo has been hard at work. Trout also recently announced an update, that the course routing has been finalized.

But while golf is well and good, what about baseball? The beloved sport seems to have taken a backseat for now, mainly because there’s nothing Trout can do about it. Until his injury heals, golf seems to be at the forefront of his focus. So is that it for the Angels? Already suffering a loss of Shohei Ohtani’s pitching due to an injury, there’s no certainty of a return for his famous friend.

Fans want him back on the field, Mike Trout wants back on the field, and the Angels certainly need him back on the field. But when will his injury allow it? Trey Cabbage has been filling in for the slugger but this past month, the Halos have lost more games than they’ve won. Their star player is sorely missed. But they may have good news just yet.

Two Good Arms May Be Coming Back to the Los Angeles Angels

With a roster plagued by injuries, the LA team may finally catch a break. Ben Joyce and Sam Bachman may return from the IL by mid-September, per The Orange County Register. The 22-year-old Joyce had been dealing with ulnar neuritis and last pitched for the team on June 9th vs. the Seattle Mariners. On the other hand, Bachman was recovering from right shoulder inflammation and last appeared with the Angels on July 3rd.

With the loss of Shohei Ohtani’s arm, these two prized assets will be welcomed back with open arms by the team. The hope is that even if they come back in September, it will be better late than never. Fans, certainly, are excited to see them back in action.
