The 2023 season has seen many Major League folks getting laid off. The reason for the same has been in the disappointment the teams have faced on the field. One such includes the dynamic New York Yankees who haven’t had an ideal year. Consequently, this has led to probable movements in the front desk and management fronts. A prime example of the same is the firing of Gabe Kepler and Chaim Bloom. Not only that but a big question mark surrounds AJ Preller and the Yankees manager.

Aaron Boone’s contract goes on through 2024, but amid major restructuring plans, an expulsion might be imminent. It is noteworthy that the Yankees have not let go of a manager mid-term since they fired Stump Merrill after the 1991 campaign. But, given the gravity of the current scenario amidst heavy speculations and news of firing, the Yankees have their mouth zipped.

Will the New York Yankees break their silence after recent departures?

In a recent tweet by @BNightengale, the MLB insider revealed details on a couple of major departures. It highlighted Bob Melvin and AJ Preller. On September 29th, the news of Kepler being let go was out, and with that, the search for a replacement finally had some prospects. In fact, the Giants will be interviewing Bob Melvin, the manager of the San Diego Padres. He might be the most preferred choice for the SanFran right now, per Bob Nightengale. Concurrently, AJ Preller is likely to take his next steps outside the general management of the Padres before opening day.

As some of these harsh actions unwind, the MLB world can’t help but notice the situation the Yankees have found themselves in. That said, Aaron Boone is not foreign to his plight. The day the Bronx Bombers were officially eliminated before they could make it to the playoffs, manager Aaron Boone contemplated his own journey henceforth with the Yanks.

Earlier, in September he said, “I think that will be part of the conversations we have organizationally. I’ll step back and evaluate where I want to keep pushing forward on certain things and where you want to make adjustments. Hopefully, those align with us being in a better place”.

He assured further on, that he would do nothing but the best for the team for as long as he is associated with New York. Hal Steinbrenner, the owner of the Yankees, has also provided a strong stance on this as well. Everyone on the team will be the subject of a close examination throughout the offseason, promised Hal Steinbrenner and this included Boone as well.

However, other than that, the team has been silent. The mega-franchise has decided to stay hushed on any restructuring that’s impending. With that, it’s important to highlight the other teams who have suffered the exits of top executives and managers.

The departure of multiple officials drags uncertainty over Aaron Boone

Recently, Kim Nj bid farewell to the Miami Marlins after becoming the first female General Manager in baseball. Alongside that, she even helped the Marlins clinch a playoff berth after a 13-season long drought. However, due to misalignment with the owners, she called it quits following Derek Jeter’s footsteps. Another story of the manager stepping down comes from Cleveland Guardians.

Early in October, following weeks of conjecture and subtle indications of his resignation, Terry Francona formally declared his intention to leave his position as manager of the Cleveland Guardians. While he is in the process of recovering from the side effects of a staph infection, he wishes to prioritize health over his career now. With that, most teams will see new faces both in their front office management and possibly players too. Adding to that, despite the Yankees silence on the future, one can’t help but question Aaron Boone’s future.
