In fact, during his career, A-Rod twice set the record for the highest contract in MLB history. This has landed him at the top of a very special list of baseball players. He has held this position since retiring from the game in 2016 and looks likely to for a long time.

Over the course of his MLB career, Alex Rodriguez has earned a whopping $441,285,104 in contracts and salary. According to MLB Insider Hector Gomez, this makes A-Rod the highest-paid Dominican player in MLB history. Gomez shared a list of Dominican players who have earned the most money in the big leagues.

He said that the list was through 2022, so there may be changes in it after the upcoming MLB season. But it is unlikely that anyone is going to catch up to Rodriguez anytime soon. The next highest earner is Albert Pujols with $346,540,436. It will be long before a current player manages to get close to A-Rod’s record total.

To add to this, Alex Rodriguez is also the highest-paid player in MLB history as well. According to an article by Forbes “A-Rod has caused financial earthquakes throughout his MLB career”. But money has also caused its fair share of problems for Alex Rodriguez.
A-Rod faced numerous problems because of his contracts
Over the course of his career, Rodriguez faced his fair share of problems because of money. He was under scrutiny for every performance of his. Furthermore, fans would abuse, mock and harass A-Rod because of the amount of money he was being paid. But the biggest loss was his friendship with Derek Jeter. A-Rod made comments about Jeter shortly after signing his first record contract with the Texas Rangers.
