However, despite their past success, the last 13 years, complemented by August, haven’t been the most fruitful Yankee years. After a brilliant start to 2022, the month of August has put big question marks in the Yankee think tank and front office.
NY Yankees in August 2022
The Yanks concluded July 2022 by defeating the Kansas City Royals 3-1. However, after that, they were victims of their worse ever streak of losses since 2004. They started the month by losing to the Mariners 1-2, followed by getting clean swept 0-3 by the Cardinals. Post that, they lost 1-2 to the Mariners, Red Sox, and the Tampa Bay Rays. Their misery did not end there. The Yanks lost their 6th straight series after the Blue Jays defeated them 1-3.

The Yanks saw some light after clean sweeping the Mets in the Subway Series. Moreover, the series against the Oakland Athletics started well, but only ended in a 2-2 draw. Finally, the month concluded with the Yankees losing 1-2 to LA Angels.
The Yanks finished August at 0.357 with only ten victories and 18 losses. This month was their worst score and most recorded losses in a calendar month since September 1991.
Will the Yanks make the World Series?
The New York Yankees would want to forget this August. Despite a terrible run in the past month, the Yanks are standing comfortably at number one in the American League East Division. Crediting their splendid start to 2022 and Aaron Judge’s ridiculously elegant power-hitting, the Yanks are all set for a postseason.
