The moment Juan Soto became a part of the New York Yankees, fans had a mouthwatering prospect on their hands. The chance to see Soto and Aaron Judge play in the same lineup is a dream come true. But even if this duo’s explosive power is ignored, when one looks closely, they are a match that should’ve been made long ago. It’s like yin and yang.

Soto not only provides the necessary hitting power to the Yankees but has also increased the overall star power of their squad. This was lacking last year as the captain was the only one with the kind of stardom that people normally associate with the Bronx. But it’s not the only reason why Soto is a perfect trade for the Bombers.

Juan Soto can provide Aaron Judge with adequate cover
Yankees Beat writer Bryan Hoch shared how the former Padres star can be a blessing in disguise for the Yankees captain in 2024. “With Soto on board, Judge projects to have a dangerous protector within manager Aaron Boone’s batting order.” Hoch wrote. He then predicted that Soto would bat third right after Judge went in second. Next year can’t come fast enough.

Judge hasn’t had an adequate supporter in the batter’s box for too long. With Soto onboard, that problem gets solved immediately. Not only is the Dominican slugger a great hitter but he is highly disciplined on the plate. With fewer strikeouts, his presence will reduce the pressure on Aaron Judge.

Even outside the field, Soto will play a massive role to cover for All Rise. Last season when the Yankees captain got injured, the Yankees’ star power collapsed. Fans pay to watch Judge, who is by far the biggest star in the Pinstripes. Enter Soto, a baseball superstar. Soto will give the Yankees Faithful another reason to fill up Yankee stadium, should their captain somehow fail to deliver.

Perhaps that’s why Soto is so highly excited to play with the 2022 AL MVP.

Childish Bambino’s praises for the Yankees captain
Hoch reported that Juan Soto had very kind words to say for Judge – “I’m going to be more than excited to share the field with him. He seems like a great guy. He was one of the guys that reached out to me whenever I got traded.” In a way, Soto revealed that he and Judge have been connected for some time now. Judge has even praised the Childish Bambino before.
The anticipation of their partnership has left nearly every baseball fan grinning. An Aaron Judge trademark home run followed by a Soto-shuffle, the story writes itself. If only for a year, Yankee Stadium will see magic.
