It has been a season of the liking for the Philadelphia Phillies. They have played well and are placed second in the NL East, with playoffs looking like a reality. However, considering the recent run of losses, things have changed for them. The same had been the case with Bryce Harper, who has struggled on the latest outings. Although the designated hitter has tried to do everything, nothing has worked in his favor. And his latest move to change his appearance has further complicated the situation with his fans.

Given that fans adore the Phillies star. And his every action receives a reaction from the fans. Overall, it’s the love that echoes, but the story is different this time. Harper has not made a single hit in the last four outings. He tried to change his appearance by shedding his beard. But it did not benefit him. But brought fans against him, who could not bear Harper’s new look.

Bryce Harper Tries a New Look To Shed His Poor Form

It has been tough the last few days for the $330 Million star. After doing all the good, he is now without any hits in his last four games, amounting to 16 at-bats. Even after all the trying, the  2021 NL MVP could not make perfect contact. So Harper thought of changing it and chose to go for a clean shave look to get back to his best. But it did not help.

Harper appeared in his new look against the San Diego Padres. But he failed to make an impact in the 0-8 loss. He was at bat three times but could not make a hit. And his no-hit streak continued for another game. After this slump, his average and OPS have dropped to 0.293 and 0.866.

It’s not a great stat in the crucial phase of the season. But fans are not bothered by it. They have faith in Harper, who can shed this poor form and does not need to take help from superstition to make it happen. And because they are unhappy with his new looks and have reacted strongly against this.

Fans Show Displeasure With Harper’s New Look

Appearances matter a lot. Especially for the fans. And when Harper made changes to his appearance, it made fans angry. While criticizing his no-beard look, many fans questioned the need for it.
