With his impressive display throughout the postseason, the Rangers shortstop has brought himself to the limelight. This is making the Yankees fans furious about the worst free agency bid of Brian Cashman.

Brian Cashman’s 2022 Free Agency Failure Still Invites Criticism

The management of a team plays a vital role in their improvement and downfall. While players try their best in the field, the managers and GMs also must have enough insight to see what’s coming. Unfortunately, the Yankees’ GM failed miserably in that department. During 2022, Seager was a free agent, and the Bronx Bombers were a potent contender to sign him. But the GM took a different route and signed Josh Donaldson. Everyone knows how that ended.

Proving Cashman’s thoughts wrong, Donaldson spectacularly failed in the 2022 season and was ultimately released by the Yankees in 2023. However, it was too late to get Seager back. The shortstop had already signed a 10-year, $325,000,000 contract with the Rangers. The 29-year-old shortstop is having a successful time with the team, taking them to the World Series. Unlike the Bronx Bombers, who didn’t make the playoffs for the first time since 2016.

After his recent success on Friday night, Yankees fans took things to social media to mock Cashman once again. Since he went for Donaldson instead of Seager, fans were frustrated at yet another poor roster decision. But it was the last straw when they saw the Rangers shortstop progressing successfully with the team and started their final trial with a 1-0 lead. In World Series Game 1, he scored a two-run homer to lead his team to a 6-5 victory.
