Nathan Eovaldi is one of the best postseason pitchers of this era. Forever exciting MLB enthusiasts, the 33-year-old has been a postseason powerhouse. Alternatively, Jordan Montgomery often leads the conversation after each of his displays on the mound. He was the starting pitcher of the team in Game 2, but unfortunately, the player messed up things a bit which led to a defeat.

However, Eovaldi was the starting pitcher for the first game of the Fall Classic, and the Rangers won the game. He played his part well, so the team is going to depend on him for another crucial game on November 2. He will be the starting pitcher of the Rangers in Game 5.

It is also Eovaldi’s second World Series appearance. He won the first championship trophy with the Boston Red Sox in 2018. Boasting impressive stats this season, Eovaldi went through some ups and downs but pitched 25 games as a starting pitcher, ending the season with a 1.14 WHIP and 3.63 ERA.

During the postseason, the team suffered in the ALCS as the opponent was the Houston Astros. Still, he pitched 5 games as a starting pitcher and had a 1.04 WHIP along with 3.52 ERA. However, the World Series Game 5 will be interesting. It will bring back the Game 1 starting pitcher combo once again.

The Game 1 starting pitcher of the D-backs was Zac Gallen. Arizona unfortunately doesn’t have the depth required in a starting rotation. Team manager Torey Lovullo gave a statement ahead of Game 4 that badly backfired. In a light mood, he said, ?Drysdale, Gibson, Koufax, Gooden, you name it. Let?s start right there.? The fact is obvious. The team has none of these players. So, after the Game 4 defeat, they turned to their ace pitcher, Zac Gallen to save their hope. In Game 5, again Gallen will play as Arizona’s starting pitcher.
