Just like the forgettable 2022 season, where the Boston Red Sox ranked at the bottom of the AL East, their offseason is turning out to be equally easy to forget. Following their season elimination, the BoSox front office has made some questionable decisions; a series of decisions that began when they let 2018 World Champion Mookie Betts go to Los Angeles in 2020. Nevertheless, this string of poor decisions has only continued and extended to them most recently, letting their 2018 World Champion pitcher leave for the Rangers.
But this isn’t the first time Boston has made a decision like this in the same offseason. As a result, their fans have reached saturation. And a “Thank you, Nate” message on Twitter did no good to their decaying goodwill.
The BoSox are definitely having an offseason to forget

Notably, Nathan Eovaldi, 32, after playing with the Red Sox for four years from 2018 to 2022, and making an All-Star appearance in 2021, has signed a deal with the Texas Rangers for two years and $34 million.
Always Nasty.
Always a champion.

Following his exit from Boston, the 2018 World Champions reached their Twitter handle with a special thank you post for Eovaldi. The caption of the post said, “Always Nasty. Always a champion. Thank you, Nate.”
However, fans did not receive this post well, with one fan saying, “a social team making more thank you videos than signing graphics is never good,”?and multiple others criticizing their front office.
Who is playing for the Sox in 2023? The concession staff?

Dear Red Sox, I was at Dunkin’s earlier and we were all wondering when did the Red Sox turn into a poverty franchise

I've been a fan for 40 years and I'm absolutely outraged by the lack of direction. I've already canceled the MLB package for this summer. Really discouraging to keep seeing these posts.

Let’s hope we don’t see one of these for Raffy in the next decade

So this is what it feels like to be a fan of a small market MLB team that gets gutted every year with ownership/front office making little no effort to bring players back or sign players. I guess just change the team name to Boston Rays at this point.

As is evident from the unhappy fans, this isn’t their first miss this season, but it could still be their last if they savor baseman Rafael Devers who’s in the free market, but has made his intentions of staying with Boston very clear.

Who else fell prey to the Boston Red Sox and their poor 2023 off-season?
Xander Bogaerts made his MLB with the Boston Red Sox in 2013. Since then, the shortstop won two championships with the Red Sox. He also made four All-Star appearances and won five Silver Slugger Awards. However, after nine years of consistency, in the ongoing off-season, the shortstop signed an 11-year, $280 million contract with San Diego Padres.
What are your views on the BoSox offseason? Do you think they’ll find a way to make Rafael Devers stay? Let us know your thoughts in the comments below.
