But amidst her college, was when she met Pete Alonso. They met in 2015 when Pete was playing baseball in the Cape Cod League. They both were in a tough spot, though, because of the long distance. Pete was a student-athlete at the University of Florida while Haley was busy studying at Michigan State.

The couple dated for three years. And as they say—why wait when everything is great? So Pete Alonso popped the big question in November 2018. He proposed with a gorgeous oval-cut diamond ring. She shared on an Instagram post following the engagement, “I can’t believe I get to marry this sweet soul who goes above and beyond every single day to make me feel beautiful and so loved.” Then came November 2021, when the couple was ready to say, “I do.”

And they did, as they tied the knot in a beautiful ceremony at the Sacred Heart Catholic Church in Tampa. The wedding was just so heartfelt, and it had elements that honored the culture of both their backgrounds. Guests were able to enjoy the Spanish tapas, paella, and a cigar rolling station; which only added to the flair.

Pete described his big day as, “the best day of my life.” The New York Mets slugger posted on Instagram for his Mrs., “1-12-21 was hands down the best day of my life. I got to marry the woman of my dreams in front of God, our families, and our friends. I feel so blessed and proud to be your husband, @haleyralonso.” And throughout these years, Haley has been a huge supporter, and a backbone of Alonso throughout his MLB career.
