While Kim Kardashian Refused to Hold Back, Derek Jeter Went the Opposite Way in Responding to 76-Year-Old Actress’ Brash Digs at Them in 2016

Back in 2016, Bette Midler started an absurd online feud with popular media personality Kim Kardashian and a few months later, with Derek Jeter. While both were completely out of the blue, the reactions of the two celebrities were poles apart, and quite understandably so.

Captain Clutch maintained a strong composure and probably didn’t even bother. Whereas, on the other hand, Kim Kardashian didn’t hesitate to give it back to the four-time Golden Globe winner and three-time Grammy winner.

Kim Kardashian and Bette Midler’s ridiculous feud

For context, Bette Midler and Kim Kardashian didn’t share any bad history. In fact, Bette had even sent Kim a tree, as a branch of friendship. However, things went downhill when Bette reached her Twitter to take a not-so-subtle dig at Kim Kardashian.

Midler’s first tweet said, “Kim Kardashian tweeted a n*de selfie today. If Kim wants us to see a part of her we’ve never seen,
she’s gonna have to swallow the camera.”

However, Kim wasn’t going to let her go without a strong response.

Hence, her first response said, “hey @BetteMidler I know it’s past your bedtime but if you’re still up and reading this send n*des #justkidding.” A few minutes later, Kim tweeted again saying, “Hey @BetteMidler I really didn’t want to bring up how you sent me a gift awhile back trying to be a fake friend, then come at me” 

To this, Bette replied by saying, “I never tried to fake friend you. Looks like anyone can take a selfie but not everyone can take a joke.”

Similarly, a few months after Bette Midler attacked Kim Kardashian, in 2016, she moved to attack former Yankee captain Derek Jeter, who had just announced his marriage with model Hannah Davis back then.

How did Derek Jeter respond to Midler’s unnecessary jab?

Notably, before Derek Jeter started dating Hannah Davis in 2012, Jeter was infamously popular for being the Yankee bad boy. Jeter had dated multiple celebrities, including Lara Dutta, Jordana Brewster, Joy Enriquez, Mariah Carey, and many others.

Analogous to that, on the announcement of his marriage, three-time Grammy award winner tweeted saying, “Derek Jeter is finally settling down & getting married. That’s probably gonna cut back on his dating, though.” That being said, the pair weren’t even friends, which made these comments seem even more out of context.

However, unlike Kim Kardashian, Derek Jeter didn’t bite. In fact, calm and composed on-field Derek Jeter displayed his composure even outside the park, by not responding to the singer’s avoidable and needless jabs.
