Insiders refute the claim of Shohei Ohtani going to Toronto

While fans in Toronto were all ready to welcome Shotime, they’d be a bit disappointed with the truth. Despite strong rumors and reports, Ohtani is “not in Toronto”. He is, in fact, not going anywhere. The MVP is at his home in Southern California, waiting to make his decision. The USA Today’s journalist Bob Nightengale clarified the same in his latest tweet.

“Shohei Ohtani is NOT in Toronto. Ohtani is NOT on a flight to Toronto. Ohtani is at home in Southern California,” Nightengale said, deflating a lot of Blue Jays fans who certainly were in dreamland. However, the deal can still happen as the Jays provide an attractive opportunity.

Due to sound investments in infrastructure and a good roster, the Toronto Blue Jays have risen in stature. They are suddenly one of the hottest franchises in MLB. The absence of a pennant victory in a generation could serve as an additional factor to attract Ohtani. The Jays have the talent to end that drought and if Shotime helps them in achieving it, his name will forever be etched in their record books.

As many know, Shotime gives high importance to legacy. Could an opportunity to immortalize himself in Blue Jays’ history attract him? The bigger question is, just how long until Ohtani announces his decision? Yesterday reports emerged that Shohei Ohtani was ready to decide in 24 hours.
